Ali Qapu is a beautiful palace in Isfahan, on the right side of Naqsh-e Jahan square. Built by Shah Abbas I, this magnificent mansion is where Shah used to hold his official meetings and entertain his foreign guest. It is also the palace where Shah Abbas officially celebrated the Persian new year (Nowruz) for the first time.

The entire palace used to be decorated by the best examples of Persian art, but most of them were destroyed during Qajar dynasty. Today however, the paintings in the music hall remain untouched and continue to display the magnificence of the Persian art.
